Crystal Palace fans have now been handed some worrying news after the 1-0 defeat to Everton.
It was Alan Nixon who shared the update on X (previously known as Twitter).
So, what was said about Crystal Palace? Let’s take a look…
Worrying Crystal Palace update emerges
Well, Nixon admitted he has a “bad feeling” that Steve Parish and Dougie Freedman could miss out on some transfer targets as the pair pursue a deal to sign Kalvin Phillips.
The reliable journalist wrote: “Got a bad feeling you will waste your time on Phillips and miss out on others if you’re not careful.”

Now, that is the last thing Crystal Palace fans want to hear after Wednesday’s hugely disappointing 1-0 defeat to Everton in the FA Cup.
The Eagles are just five points above the relegation zone after a disastrous run of one win in nine Premier League outings, so a signing or two would certainly be handy for Roy Hodgson – especially as injuries continue to occur within the squad.
Crystal Palace should abandon Kalvin Phillips move
In our view, it would be utterly ridiculous if Crystal Palace waste the rest of the window trying to sign Phillips from Manchester City – especially as Hodgson confirmed that the Eagles would only be interested in a loan deal.
Should the Manchester City No.4 end up on loan at Selhurst Park, it would purely be a move to resurrect his career for six months and get him into the England squad for UEFA EURO 2024, with little chance of a permanent deal due to the cost involved.

That carries few long-term benefits for Crystal Palace, while it would also take minutes away from talents such as David Ozoh.
Be sure to keep an eye out for further transfer developments at Selhurst Park this month, as Freedman is allegedly working on deals for Colombian duo Daniel Munoz and Jhon Cordoba.
