Crystal Palace have been involved in an eventful day so far – to say the least – with Roy Hodgson under the spotlight.
The 76-year-old is believed to be on the verge of receiving his P45 at Selhurst Park following a woeful run of just two wins in 15 games.
However – amid talk of Oliver Glasner arriving in south London as a replacement – Roy Hodgson was taken ill during training on Thursday morning.
Now – thanks to the Daily Mail – we have been given some insight regarding how those at Crystal Palace reacted to the incident…
How Crystal Palace players and staff reacted to Roy Hodgson being taken ill
First and foremost, this is a worrying development, and we wish the man from Croydon well.
The 2023/24 campaign has been immensely stressful for Hodgson – who even called this period the “toughest” moment of his career so far – and it has surely taken its toll.
The Daily Mail do not describe what happened exactly.
However, it is said that players and staff were “visibly concerned” by the incident involving Hodgson, who is currently receiving medical attention.

The Premier League’s oldest ever manager was due to hold a press conference around 1:30pm ahead of Monday’s clash against Everton, although that was understandably cancelled.
Roy Hodgson must rest
It is saddening to hear that Hodgson has been taken ill – and it makes us feel he should never have accepted the offer to come back for the 2023/24 campaign.
This is now the second time Hodgson has fallen ill this season – he also missed the trip to Aston Villa due to illness – and the stress simply cannot be beneficial for a man of his age.

Now – in our view – he should take it upon himself to depart and rest, regardless of whether Glasner is close to being appointed or not.
Even if a deal to hire the Austrian collapses, Hodgson does not need a situation like this at his age, and it would be catastrophic if his health worsened because of Crystal Palace.
All of us here at We Are Palace wish Roy Hodgson a speedy recovery
