Crystal Palace are gearing up to face Luton Town at Selhurst Park this weekend, now in the build-up Adam Wharton has received a gift.

Signed from Blackburn in January, Adam Wharton has looked the part since signing with a string of impressive performances.

Paired with Jefferson Lerma, Crystal Palace‘s midfield has been a real point of strength over the past three games and that should continue this Saturday.

When watching how solid Wharton looks, it’s incredible to remember that he only made his Premier League debut in February.

Now he’s been handed a gift to commemorate that debut…

Crystal Palace with classy gesture to Adam Wharton

On Thursday evening, Palace posted on X with a video of Joel Ward handing Wharton the ball from his debut against Brighton as a memento.

Ward approached Wharton and on behalf of the team, handed him the ball before encouraging the 20-year-old to give a speech.

Wharton said: “Great moment for me personally, good to share the pitch with you lads and to make my Premier League debut and hopefully many more.”

It’s a classy gesture to remember what will be the biggest moment in Wharton’s young career so far. That being said he is definitely in line for many more games based on how well he’s started.

Wharton could be set for greatness at Crystal Palace

Wharton has began his Palace career really strongly and has slotted straight into Oliver Glasner‘s team.

With Lerma he has began to form a strong midfield combination, with injuries impacting the other midfelders, he’s had a baptism of fire instantly relied upon heavily.

It won’t always be like this though, with Cheick Doucoure set for a return in May, Wharton could end up taking an initial back-step.

However this will only benefit his game long term, to have less pressure at such a young age.
