Max Johnstone – the brother of Sam Johnstone – has now posted an interesting comment after Crystal Palace suffered a heavy defeat to Brighton.

The England international’s sibling shared the post on X (previously known as Twitter).

So, what did the brother of Sam Johnstone say about Crystal Palace? Let’s take a look…

Brother of Sam Johnstone adds fuel to the fire

Well, the debate regarding Johnstone and Dean Henderson was reignited on Saturday after Crystal Palace suffered a 4-1 loss to Brighton with the latter in between the sticks.

Eyebrows were raised back in August when Steve Parish spent £20m on the England international – despite the fact Johnstone was already at Selhurst Park.

Henderson has since conceded 17 goals in his seven Premier League appearances for Crystal Palace without keeping a single clean sheet.

Rumours arose that Johnstone is now unhappy in south London as a result of losing his place, and while the Crystal Palace No.1’s brother downplayed that, he did add something quite intriguing.

The 30-year-old’s brother posted: “Not sure where you heard that from, Sam and his family love it in London and have always been settled. There’s a lot more to the current situation 👀🧐”.

Now, that could mean anything – ranging from the goalkeeping department, the managerial situation or those in the boardroom – so it feels pointless to speculate.

Nevertheless, something certainly does not seem right at Selhurst Park.

Sam Johnstone must come back in

Henderson is far from the problem at Crystal Palace right now, although we still think Johnstone deserves to come back into the starting XI.

The Preston-born glovesman impressed in the first half of the campaign, keeping five clean sheets in 16 Premier League appearances.

Ultimately, Johnstone, who was linked with a move to Nottingham Forest in January, only lost his place to Henderson after suffering an injury in the 2-1 loss to Liverpool.

Therefore, he deserves to come back into the lineup – especially as the defence simply cannot stop leaking goals right now.
