Oliver Glasner is already establishing himself at Selhurst Park and now he’s shed light on how he’s viewed the season so far for Crystal Palace.
The Austrian-born, Europa League-winning manager took over from Roy Hodgson after the Englishman stepped down on Monday.
Since Oliver Glasner‘s arrival, there’s been a real air of confidence around Crystal Palace with the belief being that he’s a real coup for the club and seen as a ‘perfect match’ by a former Palace man.
After such a poor season to date, he’s probably the best option available and has been talking with club media now about what he’s made of this campaign so far.

Speaking with club media, Glasner reviewed this campaign so far, including the 1-1 draw with Everton, which he attended on Monday.
“This season, the circumstances have been a little bit difficult, with many injured players and key players [who have been] injured for many games, but I see a team with great characters,” he confirmed.
“When I saw the game at Everton, there was really good spirit in the team, always supporting each other. I saw the basics, where we can build up the philosophy and where we can build up what we want to do, how we want to play.
“I could see this in every single [Palace] game, also in the losses, because there you can see a lot of the character of a team, and I saw and I’m convinced that they are great characters and great players.
“Now, of course, when you don’t win many games [recently], and this is the same in every club, they have a lack of confidence. This is maybe the first thing: we want to give them their confidence back so that they show their abilities.”
In his interview, Glasner also explained to fans what kind of footballing style they can expect from him and also admitted his role at Palace is different to any other he’s had.

While describing his football philosophy, Glasner mentioned the most important thing he wants to see from his side and it resonated with what we want to see.
This was ‘goals’ something that Palace have struggled to do this season so far, when lacking Michael Olise at least. This also happens to be the best way to build confidence in the team, by getting them amongst the goals.
With a renewed confidence and defined playstyle which is trained by an incredible coach, the good times may be on the horizon for Palace.
It’s difficult not to see Glasner achieving some level of success here, based just on the way he talks, what level of success that will be, is down to him and his team.
