Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson is now hopeful that star player Eberechi Eze will sign a new contract, with reports suggesting that he is due for a huge pay rise.

Football reporter Dom Smith was at Hodgson’s press conference previewing Palace’s game this weekend against Burnley.
The manager was asked about Eze’s future and he said: “I believe the club are working very hard with Eberechi Eze. And I think it won’t be too long before the club can announce him too.”
Dom Smith also shared that the manager said owner Steve Parish, as well as Dougie Freedman, are ‘optimistic‘ that Eze will sign a new deal.
Meanwhile, reports from talkSPORT have added more to the story. They have shared that Eze has been offered a deal worth around £100,000-a-week. This is triple what he is currently on at the moment. The agreement will have a release clause included.

The English international has been a great signing for Palace and one in which fans of the club have fallen in love with.
Eze is highly rated by, with Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola speaking on Sky Sports last season and calling the attacking midfielder ‘incredible’.
Over the summer transfer window, Eze was actually linked to Manchester City, but no move came to fruition.
The 25 year-old managed to score 10 goals in the Premier League last season, so it is great news to hear that he will be signing a new deal at the South London club.
It is no shock to hear that there is possibly a release clause in the contract. With big clubs wanting him, this gives Eze an option of making the move and the club not demanding huge amounts of money.
His original contract was due to expire in 2025, so they could have lost a lot of money on him if he didn’t sign a new deal. Now, he is most likely one of the highest earners at the club and this is much deserved.
