Crystal Palace managed to keep hold of Marc Guehi despite strong interest from Liverpool in the summer transfer window.
Marc Guehi was a key transfer target for Liverpool in the summer. Liverpool were linked with Guehi throughout the summer but he remains at Crystal Palace, where he remains a key player.
But with his contract at Selhurst Park set to expire next summer, it’s looking more and more likely that he’ll eventually leave the club as a free agent.
Expect Oliver Glasner and co to already be looking at potential replacements for the England centre-back. One name who almost replaced Guehi in the summer was Yann Bisseck at Inter Milan.

Yann Bisseck axed at Inter Milan after failed Crystal Palace move
It was reported in the summer transfer window that Crystal Palace made a bid to sign Bisseck, worth around the £28million mark. Inter rejected the bid as it was too low in their opinion. But they might now be wishing they cashed in when they had the chance.
Bisseck has lost his place in the Inter Milan XI, only returning on Tuesday night for the Champions League game against Slavia Prague after being an unused substitute in the previous four.
Italian media have also criticised his performances. Calcio Mercato write: “As is the case for Bisseck, who has slipped to the bottom of the defensive hierarchy after his poor performance against Udinese at the end of August. The German is also suffering from poor form and has lost his place to the latest signing [Manuel] Akanji.”

What happened between Oliver Glasner and Marc Guehi at Crystal Palace
Deadline day was an eventful one at Selhurst Park. It looked as though Guehi was on his way to Liverpool after a £35million bid was initially accepted, though the deal obviously fell through.
In the midst of all that, it was claimed Glasner would leave Crystal Palace if Guehi was sold. Glasner denied those reports in the end, saying: “(This is) the last time I want to talk about it. The Crystal Palace fans deserve to hear how it really was, as so many things were written. Number one, I never threatened to leave the club. Never.”
Now, Glasner is being linked with a move to Man United whilst Guehi is constantly being linked with a move away from Palace, with Liverpool still being mentioned alongside the 25-year-old.
For now though, the pair remain at Crystal Palace where they take on Dynamo Kyiv in the Conference League on Thursday, with kick off at 5:45pm.
