Crystal Palace have watched arch-rivals Brighton improve leaps and bounds over recent years and now that’s been explained by Simon Jordan.
Crystal Palace have had to watch on in annoyance as Brighton became a European side thanks to excellent recruitment and decisions in recent years.
In this same time period, Palace struggled under Patrick Viera which led to the return of Roy Hodgson and now look to begin a new era under Oliver Glasner.
This new era began with a 3-0 win over Burnley this past Saturday at Selhurst Park.
But now, Simon Jordan has explained the main difference between Palace and their rivals Brighton.

Speaking on talkSPORT on Monday, Simon Jordan embarked on a long rant about Steve Parish and Palace, before also discussing the main reason Brighton has been able to overtake Palace.
“Okay, I can get those arguments. And it’s incumbent upon Parrish and Dougie Freedman to change the direction of travel that makes it look like a more progressive Football Club.
“But they don’t have huge amounts of money. They don’t have investors and they don’t have somebody to prepare to do it like Tony Bloom did, which is stick 400 million quid of his money into Brighton and be prepared to sit back and wait for the day that might come back if it ever comes back”
Oliver Glasner could begin to change this narrative if he’s backed
While the Eagles have struggled this season, hiring a manager with the talent and background of Glasner suggests ambitious plans.
Glasner has taken Frankfurt to Europa League glory and the Champions League and won’t be content just sitting in 12th, he will want to be competing with the West Hams and Brightons of the league.
So this summer, Palace must back Glasner and sign him the players he wants so he can have a real run at taking the Eagles to the next level.
An exciting time for the club which must be capitalised on to catch the rivals who are currently flying.
