Wednesday night saw Daichi Kamada arrive as a Crystal Palace player when he scored an excellent goal against Aston Villa.

Oliver Glasner and the entire Eagles squad were delighted when Daichi Kamada scored the winner against Aston Villa on Wednesday.

Jean-Philippe Mateta’s reaction said it all as the French striker helped Kamada celebrate but waving his arms around as Kamada looked shy.

It was a special strike, with the record-breaking Japan International driving through midfield before finishing at the far post from outside the box – scoring a goal that Glasner told him to.

His celebrations showed the relief to have scored but also that he is not yet completely confident in the performances he has been putting in for Crystal Palace.

Daichi Kamada sends a message on Instagram

After a tough start to life with the Eagles, Kamada will be delighted to have scored his second goal for the club – with both coming in the Carabao Cup.

This one however was particularly excellent and gives us hope that he can build upon the performance.

After the game, Kamada took to Instagram with a message that shows why fans should be sticking by him.

The midfield talent wrote: “I just keep trying”, accompanied by an image of him in celebration.

Kamada has been trying very hard and against Villa his efforts paid off – which he will hope can inspire an improved level of performances in the Premier League starting against Wolves this weekend.

Crystal Palace fans will feel bad about early criticisms of Kamada

This message seems like it is addressed directly to fans who are displeased by his contributions so far in red and blue.

Kamada has been hammered by Crystal Palace fans this season to date. With his performances slammed on numerous occasions.

However, these reactions may have been unfair considering he had come into a Crystal Palace team which was struggling and also in a new league.

If Kamada now improves as the Eagles do – he will be proving an awful lot of people wrong.
