The future of Oliver Glasner at Crystal Palace is looking uncertain right now.
The Austrian manager has been unable to replicate the magic of last season, which has led to a poor start to the season.
Eight games, zero wins for Crystal Palace is a record absolutely indefensible – a record that would have led to a witch-hunt on Roy Hodgson had he been the Eagles’ manager.
With the Eagles sitting 18th in the league table, scoring the least goals in the entire league with just five – Oliver Glasner is under huge pressure.

Due to this, Steve Parish has been left with no choice but to consider his options, with Graham Potter viewed as a top option for the Eagles.
Another option being considered is David Moyes, with the Europa Conference League-winning Scot open to the move – with Glasner having the next few games to save his job.

Eberechi Eze could love playing under David Moyes
In the event Glasner is replaced, there will be plenty of glum faces around SE25 – but Eberechi Eze could have a smile considering what potential new manager Moyes has previously said about him.

Eze has struggled so far this season, but if Moyes were to take over from Glasner – he could be a man reborn.
Speaking in 2020, Moyes admitted he wanted to sign Eze for West Ham – only for finances to cause him to miss out, with Crystal Palace’s No.10 costing £16m.
“I think the timing for Eze, we didn’t have the finances at the time to go for Eze when that deal was becoming available.
“At that time we hadn’t got a great deal of money to spend. That changed as the window went on, [Grady] Diangana left and it just freed up a little bit of money as we went on but at the time we just weren’t there for Eze because we didn’t have the financial capabilities to do that at the time.”
This comment makes us think Moyes could get more out of Eze than we are seeing right now, with Glasner seeing his whole attacking unit falter this season.
Crystal Palace could benefit from Moyes appointment
Appointing Moyes as manager is not the same flashy move that Glasner was – but he is proven to be successful in the Premier League with Everton and also West Ham.
Of his three trophies, winning the Conference League for the Hammers will undoubtedly be the biggest success of his career and there is no reason he could not achieve similar things with the Eagles.
- 1999/2000 – Preston North End, League One champion
- 2013/2014 – Manchester United, Community Shield
- 2022/2023 – West Ham, Conference League champion
Crystal Palace would need to improve the club structure – with this being the main issue behind the manager’s failings, but with backing Moyes could be a real success.
He could even get Eze to contribute in a similar fashion to Mohammed Kudus – which could help the Eagles’ main man start producing the goods again.
