Fans turned on the 76-year-old at Selhurst Park, with Crystal Palace now on a bleak run of just one win in eight Premier League outings, ahead of clashes against Liverpool, Manchester City, Brighton and Chelsea.

Well, a lot of those in red and blue on Wednesday appeared frustrated out on the pitch, as Bournemouth coasted to a fairly simple win in SE25.
The Crystal Palace players looked like a bunch who had lost faith in Hodgson – although The Athletic claim otherwise.
It is said that some players argued amongst themselves after Wednesday’s defeat – in which fans loudly booed after the final whistle.
However, their anger was not aimed at Hodgson, and he remains a widely respected figure in the dressing room.
The Athletic add that some players feel they actually owe the 76-year-old a lot.
Eberechi Eze and Jordan Ayew have already spoke glowingly of Hodgson since he returned as a replacement for Patrick Vieira – two players who are surely among those still fighting the old England manager’s corner.
Crystal Palace players need to fight
If those within the Crystal Palace squad really do respect Hodgson, it doesn’t look like it out on the pitch.
Now, it is time for those in red and blue to show just how much they want the Croydon-born tactician to stay at Selhurst Park by delivering some committed performances.
As things stand, the players really do not seem like they actually want Hodgson to stay, despite The Athletic – a very reliable outlet – suggesting otherwise.
If Steve Parish does decide to make a change, Julen Lopetegui has been mentioned as one option.
