Aaron Wan-Bissaka has a new club but he can’t stop talking about Selhurst Park.
Five years on from departing Selhurst Park for a record £50m fee, Aaron Wan-Bissaka has returned to London, but it is not South London.
Manchester United agreed to sell the right-back to West Ham, replacing him with Noussair Mazraoui from Bayern Munich.
Earlier this summer there was talk of Wan-Bissaka returning to Crystal Palace, but that quickly subsided and now he’ll be operating out of the London Stadium this coming season.
Crystal Palace ultimately did not have a place for Wan-Bissaka despite swap deals being reported. Upon his arrival at the Hammers, Wan-Bissaka has been talking about Selhurst Park.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka still loves Selhurst Park
After completing his move to West Ham on Tuesday, Wan-Bissaka went through all of his media commitments for his new club.
One of these was a question and answer video for the Hammers X account in which he was quizzed over a bunch of interesting topics.
But upon being asked about where his favourite away stadium is, he instantly had an answer prepared which was obviously his boyhood club.
“I’d go with Selhurst Park”, he replied, showing that he remembers his roots at the club which made him a £50m player and a record sale for the Eagles.
Of course, he will not have enjoyed his most recent visit to Selhurst Park considering it saw him on the losing side of a 4-0 thrashing by Palace.
Wan-Bissaka’s record vs Palace since leaving
Since Wan-Bissaka made the move to Old Trafford in 2019, his outings against his old side have been mixed – when he has been in the squad that is.

His life at United quickly saw him taking on Palace in August 2019 which resulted in a 2-1 win for the Eagles at Old Trafford. Later that season United got revenge, winning 2-0 at Selhurst Park.
The following season, Wan-Bissaka was on the bench for Palace’s visit to Old Trafford which saw the Eagles win again.
It wasn’t until his final visit to Selhurst Park as a United player that he experienced defeat again with that 4-0 thrashing coming in May 2024.
