Crystal Palace are facing the threat of losing Marc Guehi this summer, but is a move for the defender a huge problem?
The Eagles have developed well along with the 24-year-old, who joined from Chelsea in 2021 with hopes of gaining Premier League experience.
Since then, Marc Guehi has become a quality option in the top flight, making over 100 appearances for Crystal Palace as well as featuring heavily for the senior England national team over the summer.
However, with just two years left on his deal and plenty of teams showing interest, the reality of keeping the centre-back is becoming tougher.
Recent reports have stated that Newcastle are in talks with Crystal Palace to sign Guehi, which could see the Selhurst Park outfit net a huge profit.
While they will almost certainly be handed a blow from losing the defender, it isn’t all doom and gloom.
Oliver Glasner has proven he can deal with Marc Guehi absence at Crystal Palace
Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner has already proven that he can deal without Guehi in his side during his short tenure so far.
The England defender suffered a knee injury in February that ruled him out for the majority of the manager’s early spell.
During that time, Palace coped well and instilled a style of play that energised the crowd and brought about results too.
With Guehi absent, the Eagles picked up wins over Liverpool, West Ham and Newcastle, while he only made cameo appearances from the bench in victories against Manchester United and Wolves.
The one game the 24-year-old did start in came against Aston Villa on the final day, where he played in midfield rather than at centre-back.
It shows that Glasner is more than capable of dealing without having Guehi at his disposal, suggesting he can cope again.

Crystal Palace already have Marc Guehi replacements
On top of not featuring all that much for Glasner so far, Guehi already has some potential replacements through the door at Copers Cope.
Summer signing Chadi Riad is a new option after joining from Barcelona, while Jefferson Lerma is more than capable as a centre-back.
It may allow for resources from the sale to be placed elsewhere, finding the next gem for Dougie Freedman to pick up.
