Daichi Kamada will now be staying at Crystal Palace for the 2026/27 campaign after it was announced that the Japan international had signed a new contract.
The UEFA Conference League winner officially became a free agent on June 30th when the two-year contract he signed in July 2024 expired, but the former Lazio man has chosen to stay at Selhurst Park for another season and work under Pierre Sage.
Kamada told Crystal Palace fans “we will get another trophy” when discussing his decision to sign a new deal – a statement which should excite supporters considering what he said when first arriving in July 2024.

Could be one of the most important deals we do this summer 🦅
The Daichi Kamada ambition that came true
The 29-year-old made it clear what he wanted to achieve at Crystal Palace after arriving on a free transfer in July 2024.
Kamada said: “It would be fantastic to make a new history for Crystal Palace, which I think is the main reason for me to come here.
“When I was in Germany, my Frankfurt team tended to make great progress in the cup competitions. So in that sense, the cup competitions will be a good chance to win a trophy with Crystal Palace too, and I would like to play in this team with the aim of winning a big title like that.”

The man born in Ehime went on to do exactly that, not just winning one trophy in the FA Cup in his debut season, but two major honours in two years with the UEFA Conference League victory last term.
Kamada – who bizarrely recorded a 200% chance conversion rate at the World Cup – can also claim the 2025 Community Shield win over Liverpool amongst his other medals.
Crystal Palace’s fixtures are out for the 2026/27 season! Which game are you most excited for? 🤔
Should the Japanese maestro now end up lifting the UEFA Europa League next season after stating his desire to win yet another trophy with Crystal Palace, somebody ought to ask him for the lottery numbers.
