Daichi Kamada has now signed a new one-year contract at Crystal Palace.

The Eagles have announced that the Japan international will be staying at Selhurst Park for the 2026/27 campaign and shall work under Pierre Sage.

There were some concerns within the Crystal Palace fanbase that Kamada could follow Oliver Glasner to Nottingham Forest – having already played under the Austrian at Eintracht Frankfurt and in SE25.

However, the 29-year-old has now committed himself to the Eagles.

How are we feeling about this news, Crystal Palace fans? 🔴 🔵

Could be one of the most important deals we do this summer 🦅

After the contract extension was announced, Steve Parish said: “This is fantastic news for Crystal Palace. Over the last two years Daichi has made a great impact in the centre of midfield, as well as becoming a fans’ favourite on and off the pitch.

“I am delighted that he has turned down the many options he had to extend his stay in south London. Daichi will now have a well-earned break after his excellent World Cup and join us later in pre-season as we enter a busy Premier League and European season.”

Kamada himself said: “Thanks for everything. We will get another trophy. I will give my all, I promise you. See you soon.”

It comes after Kamada – who is feeling fatigued – pledged his allegiance to the UEFA Conference League winners following Japan’s exit from the World Cup.

The man born in Ehime was quoted by Soccer Digest Web as saying: “I want to stay in the Premier League. I want to stay at Palace.

“When you consider that I can play in the Premier League, play in a European league, play in London, and have my family in a familiar environment, there aren’t many clubs better than Palace.”
