Crystal Palace are in the market for a new attacker ahead of a first ever campaign in the UEFA Europa League.

The Daily Mail believe the Eagles recognise the squad was too thin for European football last season, as the UEFA Conference League success came alongside a disappointing finish of 15th in the Premier League.

Media Foot claimed in June that Lassine Sinayoko is a target for Crystal Palace – a player Pierre Sage wanted RC Lens to sign last summer – and the Mali international is now trying to force an exit from Auxerre after the French side allegedly went back on a promise.

Who is your DREAM signing? ⭐️

Sebastien Denis of Foot Mercato now states that the 26-year-old is refusing to train with Auxerre after they chose to block him from leaving.

The French journalist claims that Auxerre previously told Sinayoko he would be allowed to leave if a satisfactory offer was made – even putting that promise in writing – and that bid has now supposedly arrived from an unnamed side, although the Ligue 1 outfit are refusing to sanction a departure.

The Malian now feels betrayed and has gone on strike at Auxerre.

It very much feels like Auxerre will buckle at some point, considering Sinayoko only has 12 months left on his contract and will leave for nothing in 2027 at this rate.

Media Foot claimed in their previous report that this contract situation means the Auxerre No.10 can leave for only €15m (£13m) this summer.

The international colleague of Cheick Doucoure would be an exciting addition for Crystal Palace – who also like Chrislain Matsima – considering what he achieved last season, scoring 12 goals and providing four assists across 32 appearances in Ligue 1.

What do Palace need to do next after landing a new defender in Mingueza? 🇪🇸

Sinayoko accumulated this haul of 16 goal involvements while playing on the left, in the centre and on the right throughout the season, so his versatility would be very welcome as Crystal Palace attempt to add quality depth to the squad for Sage.
