Luiz Henrique could now join Crystal Palace instead of Lyon due to registration problems involving the French side.
That is according to Jorge Nicola.
So, what is the latest on Luiz Henrique and Crystal Palace? Let’s take a look…
Luiz Henrique could sign for Crystal Palace
Well – according to Nicola – John Textor promised the Brazilian that he would bring him to Lyon before sending the forward on loan to Botafogo.
Henrique wants to stay in Europe – but is believed to be happy to spend a few months on loan in Brazil if it means he can continue his career in European football afterwards.
However – as Nicola revealed – problems arose when the paperwork stated that Botafogo would be signing the South American as the parent club instead of Lyon, as the Ligue 1 outfit are said to have issues when it comes to registering players from Brazil.
Henrique has since rejected the move – as he wants to be officially owned by a European club rather than a Brazilian side – but is said to be open to joining Crystal Palace instead of Lyon.

The Real Betis No.11 is expected to cost €20m (£17m) – although there is still a long way to go yet, as Textor does not have the final say on decisions over Steve Parish at Selhurst Park.
Henrique has scored one goal while also providing three assists in 21 appearances for Real Betis so far this season.
Real Betis could be heavily involved ahead of transfer deadline
Now, there could be something in this rumour.
According to Alan Nixon, Real Betis are willing to spend £14m to sign Jean-Philippe Mateta.

However, Crystal Palace want to sign a replacement forward before sanctioning the Frenchman’s exit.
Therefore – in our view at least – a potential swap deal involving Mateta and Henrique could take place before Thursday’s transfer deadline.
Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as anything could happen at Selhurst Park.
