Crystal Palace are ready to make a £12 million offer for River Plate forward Pablo Solari, according to reports.
It’s no secret that Roy Hodgson’s side are in desperate need of some goals this season as they have just 12 goals in 12 Premier League games this season. With Odsonne Edouard’s future up in the air too, a centre-forward is needed.
Crystal Palace are currently sitting 12th in the Premier League table but have picked up some vital results this season, the 1-0 away win against Manchester United being the pick of the bunch.
Goals, however, have been hard to come by this season which is why the Eagles have been linked with the River Plate forward Pablo Solari, who has thoroughly impressed this season in Argentina.
Palace’s interest
According to journalist Miguel Hoffmann, speaking on El Futbolero, he confirmed Crystal Palace’s interest in the forward.
Solari, 22, has an incredible goal and assist record this calendar year with 12 goals and 10 assists meaning a move away from Argentina may well just be a matter of time for the forward.
Hoffmann confirmed that the Eagles would be willing to offer no less than $15m (£12m) for the player, but River Plate are looking for $25m (£20m), so there is a considerable distance between the two parties at this moment in time.
That gap, despite being a big one, may well be bridged in the upcoming January window.
As we approach the January transfer window, Solari may be the name on fans’ lips with the hope being from the Palace faithful that a move for a goalscorer in January is a possibility.

With the sheer amount of quality midfielders and winger’s at Palace’s disposal, it seems that a superb goalscoring striker would be the perfect final piece of the attacking jigsaw for Palace and Hodgson’s side.
Having a striker, who can be relied upon consistently, could be the key to Palace climbing up the Premier League table.
When Palace returns from the international break, it will be a tough task away at Luton Town for Hodgson’s men, who were a tad unfortunate to not pick up more during their 1-0 defeat to United at Old Trafford.
