Crystal Palace were actually offered the chance to sign Hugo Ekitike from PSG during the January transfer window.
That is according to Graeme Bailey of HITC Football.

Hugo Ekitike was offered to Crystal Palace
Well – according to Bailey – the France U21 international is now heading to Eintracht Frankfurt after being rejected by a number of Premier League outfits.
Manchester United, Newcastle, West Ham and Fulham were also given the chance to sign Ekitike – along with Crystal Palace – although none of the five Premier League sides expressed an interest.
The 21-year-old will now move to Eintracht Frankfurt on loan, with the German side negotiating a £25m option to buy the Frenchman at the end of the season.
PSG paid €35m (£30m) to sign Ekitike – who has been compared to Kylian Mbappe – from Stade de Reims back in July 2022.
However, things have not been easy for the Reims-born striker in Paris.
Ekitike has scored just four goals in 33 appearances for PSG – also providing four assists – so you can see why Crystal Palace held some reservations about bringing him to Selhurst Park.
Crystal Palace working on Maxwel Cornet
Despite rejecting the chance to sign Ekitike, Crystal Palace are still working on a deal to bring one forward to Selhurst Park – Maxwel Cornet.
According to Ed Aarons of the Guardian, Crystal Palace have agreed terms to sign the Ivory Coast international on loan from West Ham.
However, the deal is dependant on West Ham finding a replacement for Cornet as David Moyes is wary of thinning out his squad too much.
If discussions to sign the Ivorian collapse, Marseille No.29 Iliman Ndiaye is another option for Dougie Freedman to pursue.
