Some Crystal Palace fans are beginning to ask questions as rivals make significant moves, while it appears Steve Parish and Matt Hobbs are doing very little for Pierre Sage.
So far, only one new signing has arrived in Oscar Mingueza – who joined on a free transfer – meaning that not a single penny has been spent on a transfer this summer.
It can often pay to be patient with more market opportunities opening up towards the end of the window, but the pressure on Parish is likely to relent after Evangelos Marinakis gave Oliver Glasner a signing he wanted at Crystal Palace.

Nottingham Forest ready to pay £32m for Oliver Glasner’s Crystal Palace target Ousmane Diomande
Those at the City Ground are now in advanced talks with Sporting CP over a £32m deal to sign Ousmane Diomande – according to the Telegraph.
BBC Sport explicitly state that Glasner is the driving force behind the move, having wanted to bring the Ivory Coast international to Crystal Palace last summer.
It is unclear why the Eagles failed to land Diomande for the Austrian. At the time, A Bola – one of the largest news outlets in Portugal – simply said the deal ‘stalled’ for Crystal Palace, who later signed Jaydee Canvot from Toulouse in a £16m move instead.
That transfer has worked out well, reinforcing our earlier point that there can be some benefits to being patient in the summer market.
Having said that, it is starting to become apparent why Glasner – who has alienated some Crystal Palace fans – swapped Selhurst Park for the City Ground.
Marinakis is an owner who loves to splash the cash, and, as seen through his persistent complaints about recruitment while at Crystal Palace, the 51-year-old is also a demanding coach who wants plenty of signings made.
In that respect, they could be a match made in heaven, so long as results go Nottingham Forest’s way.
