Crystal Palace are now interested in signing Andrey Santos on loan from Chelsea – after the Brazilian struggled at Nottingham Forest.

Well, Steve Parish is primarily looking at the loan market – according to The Athletic – and the Brazil international could be one temporary signing to arrive at Selhurst Park.
The Evening Standard believe Crystal Palace and a number of Championship outfits are interested in signing Santos on loan, as Chelsea prepare to recall the South American from his unsuccessful stint at Nottingham Forest.
Steve Cooper – who could replace Roy Hodgson – and Nuno Espirito Santo have both overlooked the Brazilian this season at the City Ground.
In total, Santos has played just seven minutes of Premier League football, with Chelsea now looking to send their wonderkid elsewhere.
In our view, the chances of the 19-year-old ending up at Selhurst Park are high, as Chelsea have previously benefitted from loaning Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Conor Gallagher to Crystal Palace.
Who is Andrey Santos?
Given his lack of exposure at Nottingham Forest, some may not have heard of Santos.
If that is the case, a comparison might help.
According to transfer expert Graeme Bailey, Santos is seen as a “baby Bruno” Guimaraes thanks to his combative – but smooth – style of play in the heart of midfield.
Chelsea spent £18m to sign the teenager when he was just 18 – which speaks volumes about his potential – while he is already a senior Brazil international too.
Of course, there is a danger of Hodgson refusing to play Santos, just like he has largely ignored another 19-year-old Brazilian in Matheus Franca this season, so the 76-year-old may not agree to the move.
