Crystal Palace have just agreed a deal for yet another summer signing on transfer deadline day.

Steve Parish and Dougie Freedman are set for a blockbuster finale to the summer transfer window, with potentially four deals to be completed.

Crystal Palace have announced the arrival of Maxence Lacroix from Wolfsburg already for a fee of £18m.

But there are plenty of exciting moments left to be had for the Eagles before 11 pm strikes.

Trevoh Chalobah to arrive at Selhurst Park

For the Eagles, after two consecutive league defeats, it was pivotal that additions were made before the transfer window closed.

With Eddie Nketiah set to join from Arsenal and also Matt Turner from Nottingham Forest on loan, now Crystal Palace have agreed to sign a player from Chelsea on loan.

This addition further strengthens a central defensive department which is already looking very strong.

According to David Ornstein, now Crystal Palace have agreed to sign Chelsea’s Trevoh Chalobah on loan for the 2024/25 season.

The versatile 25-year-old joins with no option or obligation to buy, just a straight loan which sees Chelsea receive a loan fee for Chalobah.

Now, it will be a race against time for the Eagles to get Chalobah’s medical and paperwork sorted before 11 pm, with the medical tests now planned according to Fabrizio Romano.

Chalobah missed the deadline for registration so would not have played on Sunday – although he wouldn’t have played anyway due to it being against his parent club.

Crystal Palace secures long-term target

Crystal Palace securing the arrival of Chalobah will be particularly sweet for Dougie Freedman who has had his eyes on him for ages.

It has been reported all window, even as recently as earlier on deadline day that Crystal Palace would be keen on Chalobah.

However, interest actually stretches all the way back to January, when Crystal Palace were keen on Chalobah under Roy Hodgson.

It was reported earlier this window that Chalobah had rejected an approach from Crystal Palace, but all that matters is that he has been signed.

Now, the Eagles boast a very strong centre-back quartet who will all be bidding for a spot in the starting line-up.
