Crystal Palace and Chelsea have already been through one transfer saga this summer, and could now be set for a second.
The Chelsea and Michael Olise saga felt like it dragged on for weeks before the Frenchman opted for Bayern Munich instead.
This will have left the Blues and Crystal Palace in close quarters for long periods and during this time, there were links with Palace being interested in Chelsea players.
We even saw possible swap deals mentioned, with Palace holding an interest in Noni Madueke, Armando Broja and Trevoh Chalobah at different stages in 2024.
Now, the Eagles could be ready to formalise their interest in one player who is being pushed out of Stamford Bridge.

Crystal Palace now ready to make move for Trevoh Chalobah
Defence is a priority for the Eagles this summer, even after adding Chadi Riad to the ranks in July. Playing a three-at-the-back formation left the original defensive group stretched thin, and therefore Dougie Freedman has clearly made it a priority.
It comes according to TalkSport, the Eagles are interested in Chalobah and are now ready to make a move to sign him.
Palace will face plenty of competition for Chalobah, with West Ham cited as an interested party, and Manchester United also believed to be keen.
Chalobah has been left out of Chelsea’s squad heading to the USA, with Enzo Maresca explaining the situation is clear, it implies that the boyhood Chelsea player will be forced out.
Palace will also need to change Chalobah’s mind on the club as he’d previously rejected an approach by Palace.
How does Chalobah compare to Marc Guhei?
Crystal Palace signing Chalobah would likely mean the exit of Marc Guehi considering it’d give Oliver Glasner five starting-level centre-backs.
But how does the Chelsea defender compare with Guehi and would he be a strong addition for the Eagles this summer?
Well according to FBRef, Chalobah could be quite impactful as his stats indicate.

When compared with Guehi we can see that Chalobah has higher passing, tackling and clearances, while the pair are close on blocks and interceptions.
Chalobah could definitely fill the boots of Guhei and it could be a move which sees Palace effectively repeat the coup of signing Guehi.
