Transfer reports have linked Crystal Palace with exciting forward Karim Konate, but they are not the only Premier League club interested.

That’s according to 90min.

So, what’s the latest on Crystal Palace and their interest in Karim Konate? Let’s take a look…

What’s the story?

According to 90min, Tottenham and Arsenal are currently monitoring the progress of Konate, who currently plays for Red Bull Salzburg.

They aren’t the only Premier League clubs apparently involved as Palace and London rivals West Ham have “checked in on Konate’s progress having both watched over him recently.”

For now, all the clubs mentioned are just scouting the player. The forward, who is only 19 years-old has played alongside Palace legend Wilfried Zaha twice whilst on international duty with the Ivory Coast. He already has eight senior appearances for his country.

Crystal Palace have been scouting Karim Konate

The young forward is clearly a player who has a high ceiling, and this is shown by the amount of top clubs interested or scouted him at this current time.

Konate, who has drawn comparisons with Zaha, has 10 goals and six assists for RB Salzburg in 20 games this season.

It is an incredible tally for a player so young and Palace being linked with such an exciting prospect should no doubt excite fans. The Eagles seem to be scouting talent from across the globe, with them apparently also sending scouts to the Copa Libertadores final.

He would also fit the type of players Palace have signed over the years. Young, with top potential and able to play well for the Eagles but also comes with the possibility of a huge profit if sold long term.

It will be tough though for the South London club to sign the player with so many big clubs interested. Konate is already playing in the Champions League and he will no doubt want to continue playing European football.

There are some top talents at the club but arguably a third striker, who has top potential, is what is missing and Konate would be an ideal signing.
