Crystal Palace are set for a busy deadline day, but one player is not on the cards.
Crystal Palace have plenty of players on the shortlist today, with two already completed and likely to be announced imminently.
Maxence Lacroix is set to join for a fee of around £18m from Wolfsburg as a Joachim Andersen replacement after his move to Fulham.
Eddie Nketiah will also join from Arsenal for £25m.
Now, the Eagles look set to miss out on one exciting attacker.

Rayan Cherki signs new Lyon contract
Over the past few weeks, there has been a growing confidence that Rayan Cherki could be brought in this summer from Lyon.
His club reportedly pushed Cherki toward a Crystal Palace move this summer.
Cherki was supposedly a player Crystal Palace had a chance of signing before the deadline slammed shut.

According to journalist Ed Aarons, a move for Cherki is now off the table for the Eagles.
This is because Cherki is now set to pen a new three-year deal at Lyon, which should put to rest the rumours of Cherki going to Selhurst Park or even Fulham who had a £17m bid accepted.
With Cherki not an option, it remains to be seen if Crystal Palace will instead opt for another forward, or if it was Cherki or nobody.
Crystal Palace will rue missing out
Cherki is a sublime talent and if the Eagles had managed to pull off this move, it would have left Dougie Freedman heralded for his work.

PSG have wanted Cherki recently and this summer was likely the only chance Crystal Palace would have had to sign him.
Chances are next summer will see the talented forward head to one of Europe’s elite given the talent he possesses.
That being said multiple exciting talents are out there who could be just as successful an addition as Cherki.
