Crystal Palace are still in the market for attacking reinforcements despite the signing of Ismaila Sarr.

The Senegal international has taken the No.7 shirt after Michael Olise left to join Bayern Munich – although Dougie Freedman is still searching for improvements to Oliver Glasner‘s frontline.

Now – according to reports – Crystal Palace are willing to spend more than £20m to sign a top talent from Chelsea…

Crystal Palace ready to make Carney Chukwuemeka move

A story from The Sun (print version, page 57, Sunday 11th August) states that Crystal Palace are waiting for the green light to make a bid to sign Carney Chukwuemeka from Chelsea.

The England U20 international – who Chelsea signed in a £20m deal from Aston Villa back in August 2022 – is keen to be a regular starter, something he has not been afforded at Stamford Bridge amid fierce competition.

Chukwuemeka has only made four Premier League starts in total since joining the Blues, and Crystal Palace are now prepared to offer him an escape route.

The Sun believe Crystal Palace are open to spending over £20m to sign the 20-year-old this summer, with those at Selhurst Park keen to inject more magic into Glasner’s XI after losing Olise.

Chukwuemeka – who Yannick Bolasie previously called a “quality” footballer – made nine Premier League appearances last season, scoring one goal while also providing one assist.

Eagles could sign two Chelsea players

Chukwuemeka is not the only Chelsea player on Crystal Palace’s radar.

A story from the Daily Mail recently claimed that Chelsea No.14 Trevoh Chalobah has been shortlisted as a potential replacement for Marc Guehi – who looks likely to join Newcastle.

However, The Sun provide an update on this situation, writing that Crystal Palace have been put off by Chelsea’s £25m asking price, but would take Chalobah on loan.

Be sure to keep an eye on both situations, as it seems at least one Chelsea player could swap west London for south London this summer.
