Crystal Palace were offered the chance to sign Skelly Alvero from Lyon across recent days.
That is according to Alex Howell of the BBC.
So, what is the situation involving Skelly Alvero and Crystal Palace? Let’s take a look…
Crystal Palace offered Skelly Alvero
Well, Dougie Freedman appears to have settled on Blackburn No.23 Adam Wharton as the midfield signing for this month.
Nevertheless, that did not stop Alvero being offered to Crystal Palace in addition to the England U20 international.
However, the Eagles only appear keen to land just one new central midfielder this month, as the chance to sign the 6ft 8in midfielder was rejected before he eventually sealed a loan move to Werder Bremen.
Howell wrote on X (previously known as Twitter): “Skelly Alvero the towering midfielder from Lyon who has just joined Werder Bremen on loan with a obligation to buy was also offered to Crystal Palace in the last couple of days #CPFC”.

Of course, John Textor owns Lyon while also co-owing Crystal Palace, so it could be assumed that the American was behind Alvero being offered to the south Londoners.
Who is Skelly Alvero?
Hopefully, Crystal Palace keep an eye on how Alvero performs at Werder Bremen, as he appears to be a very interesting talent who could grace the Premier League one day.
As aforesaid, the Frenchman boasts a remarkable 6ft 8in frame, although that does not prevent him from possessing impressive dribbling skills which allow him to drive forward past opponents.
That particular trait led Scouted Notebook to describe Alvero as a unicorn – a term given to extremely rare and unique footballers – while also comparing him to Yaya Toure and Patrick Vieira.

Hopefully, Crystal Palace keep an eye on the 21-year-old as he attempts to fulfil his vast potential at Werder Bremen.
