Crystal Palace have seen a bid rejected this month already for a player who’s among the top attacking targets for January.
Attacking incoming are where Crystal Palace seem intent on being busy this month with wingers and strikers both seemingly the priority.
Jean-Philippe Mateta was said to be on his way out prior to this window, but now it seems a recent flurry of form could keep him at the club.
This likelihood looks more and more possible given the fact Palace don’t seem to have too much in the way of finances to sign a replacement.
But there was a bid submitted earlier this month, according to reports, for Eddie Nketiah with a loan move viewed along with an option to buy.

According to a report by Football Transfers, Palace have already made their move to sign the talented Arsenal forward this month.
Palace apparently made a loan offer to bring Nketiah to Selhurst Park until the end of the season, a deal which also would have an obligation to buy attached for the summer.
However, as expected this was rejected, with Arsenal’s prospects of signing a replacement looking slim right now with Ivan Toney unattainable.
So despite interest and a move, Palace probably won’t get the top target and the likliest outcome is that Mateta and Odsonne Edouard see out the season up front.
However, there are alternatives Palace could move to sign if they wanted to bring a striker in.
Palace have no excuse with so many alternatives to Nketiah
To start with, the latest forward to be linked with Palace is a proven Premier League bagsman in Danny Ings. The West Ham forward would be relatively underwhelming in comparison to some of the more exciting players linked but under Roy Hodgson he could be great.
Slightly more ambitious is links to Roberto Firmino who’s been touted as an option with the Brazilian keen to return to the Premier League from Saudi Arabia.
Meanwhile, one of Scotland’s hottest forwards Lawrence Shankland has been credited with interest from several English and Scottish clubs. The Hearts forward is also wanted by Everton and Burnley among others.
