Crystal Palace’s midfield could do with some reinforcement with injuries plaguing the department this season.
Arguably the two best midfield players at the disposal of Oliver Glasner at Selhurst Park are currently battling injury problems.
Adam Wharton has been fighting injury all season so far and the Eagles No.20 has even required injections to make it through fixtures for Crystal Palace.
Glasner has admitted Wharton may actually need surgery to fix this seemingly ever-present injury. Meanwhile, the injury status of Cheick Doucoure has continued to be concerning after he missed much of last season.
This leaves just Jefferson Lerma and Will Hughes as proper options in central midfield, and now the Eagles have been linked with a new midfielder.
Morten Frendrup could be Oliver Glasner’s very own N’Golo Kante
With Daichi Kamada being exposed in central midfield this season, a more defensively solid option would be welcomed, and now Freedman has just the player in mind.
It comes according to Give Me Sport that the Eagles are in the race for Genoa’s Morten Frendrup, although competition for his signature will be steep.
Liverpool are also interested along with Manchester United and Tottenham, with Frendrup an exciting 23-year-old midfielder.
The Dane is a player Crystal Palace are keeping an eye on in the event that Manchester City make good on their interest in Wharton.
Frendrup could cost as little as £16.6m as reported by Gazzetta dello Sport earlier this month – making him a perfect addition to Crystal Palace.
Crystal Palace would be better with Frendrup
The Danish midfielder having interest from the likes of Liverpool and United is a sign of how good he is right now and could also go on to be in the future.
Last season showed perfectly why Frendrup could improve Crystal Palace.

Frendrup would bring some real defensive security to the midfield and this would be more than welcomed by Glasner considering his side’s struggles this season.
However, if it comes at the cost of losing Wharton, we doubt the Eagles will be too keen.
