The work never stops for Dougie Freedman and now he has already been looking at bringing the next Michael Olise to Crystal Palace.
Shopping in the Championship is a very successful pastime for Dougie Freedman, with Michael Olise, Eberechi Eze and most recently Adam Wharton making this move from their respective EFL clubs.
Crystal Palace therefore are likely always on the lookout for players to sign from the league below – and there are plenty of talents currently in the division who could be smart pick-ups.
Now, after losing Olise this past summer to Bayern Munich, it seems that the Eagles have eyes on signing a Championship talent to replace him.

So after the success Freedman has had previously at the club with recruitment from the Championship, it is no shock to see that he is scouting in the league already this season.
Having missed out on Jonathan Rowe, Gabriel Sara and Jaden Philogene, he will want to make sure the next EFL gem is Selhurst Park bound.
Freedman is already moving along these lines and according to Edmund Brack, he was present at The Den last weekend to see Millwall take on Luton.
This is after Millwall boss Neil Harris accepted that it is likely that Premier League clubs will be keeping a keen eye on Romain Esse.
The left-footed right winger has started the season as a regular for Millwall and at just 19, looks a really exciting prospect – the kind of player that the Eagles should be looking to sign.

In the summer, Crystal Palace lost Olise and really failed to adequately replace him, despite the arrivals of Ismaila Sarr and Daichi Kamada.
Neither of these additions have hit the ground running, with fans left underwhelmed by both names.
In Esse though, the Eagles could sign a winger who has been praised for being ‘so good’ and who could excite fans and has a pretty big upside.
Having already turned two exciting prospects from the academy into absolute stars, the club hierarchy will be confident that Oliver Glasner can repeat this feat.
