Michael Olise has now sent a message to Crystal Palace fans after sealing his £50.8m move to Bayern Munich.
The France U21 international was in Bavaria on Sunday to complete a medical and sign his contract with the German giants – after they decided to trigger his release clause.
So, what did Michael Olise say to Crystal Palace fans after his move to Bayern Munich was announced? Let’s take a look…
Michael Olise sends message to Crystal Palace fans
The 22-year-old, who is usually quite reserved when it comes to making public statements and addressing supporters, has now sent a heartfelt message to the Selhurst Park faithful after sealing his £50.8m move to the Allianz Arena.
Olise wrote on Instagram: “Thank you to everyone at @cpfc. Thankful for the journey that I went through as a player at this club and the love that everyone has shown me since day one. Thanks to all the staff, players and especially to all the fans that have supported me I’ll be forever grateful I wish everyone at the club the best for the future ❤️💙”
Odsonne Edouard responded, writing “crack ❤️🙏🏾” – which means very good or skilful – while Tyrick Mitchell also reacted, sending two heart emojis to the winger.
Daniel Munoz also responded with a wordless message, sending the “🔥🙏🏼👌🏼🪄” emojis as if to suggest Olise was a magician on the pitch, which he was, given the inclusion of a magic wand.
Why some supporters might be feeling deflated
While it was never a wise decision for any Crystal Palace fan to get attached to Olise – given the fact he was clearly at a level above – the reality that Roy Hodgson was in charge for a large portion of the winger’s time in Selhurst Park does irk us a bit.
The 76-year-old’s dire tactics often nullified the man from Hammersmith.
Olise scored just six goals in 21 games under Hodgson – who also fielded him while injured against Brighton, causing a major setback – whereas he netted four in just eight appearances under Oliver Glasner.

Of course, we are still grateful to have seen Olise play for Crystal Palace in any capacity, although it feels as if we somewhat wasted the presence of an elite talent with the wrong manager at the helm for most of his time in SE25.
