After Michael Olise was sold in July, there was a huge hunt to find the ideal replacement for Oliver Glasner.

This hunt took the Eagles far and wide – with names from across the globe being suggested with Sao Paulo’s Wesley Gassova one winger linked.

Crystal Palace ultimately settled on Ismaila Sarr, signing the Marseille winger for a fee of £12.5m – and handing the Senegal winger the No.7 shirt.

Since then, Sarr has not quite lived up to expectations as he has struggled to break into Oliver Glasner’s starting line-up.

Ruben Amorim exit could shake up Sporting Lisbon

The big news around the footballing world this week has been Manchester United sacking Erik ten Hag.

Ineos have already identified and are in talks for his replacement in the form of 39-year-old Portuguese manager Ruben Amorim.

This has left many in the city of Lisbon annoyed.

Sporting fans have been in tears – while Amorim has seen his players demand answers last night before they faced Nacional in a comfortable 3-1 victory – according to Abola.

Along with this, Sporting has seen the possible free-agent arrival of Luis Neto stall due to Amorim’s imminent exit.

But how does this impact Crystal Palace?

Crystal Palace could lose Marcus Edwards to Manchester United

In the summer, the Eagles were considering a swoop for Sporting’s Marcus Edwards, even going so far as to submit a £12.6m bid for the exciting winger.

TeamTalk has reported that Amorim has asked United to sign him Edwards, along with Goncalo Ignacio and Pedro Goncalves.

This would almost certainly mean Edwards would opt for an Old Trafford move over Selhurst Park.

Therefore, Amorim to United may actually impact the Eagles – although with links to Romain Esse already, Crystal Palace have other options to draw from.
