Crystal Palace have just made a move which could take Yeremy Pino to another level

Yeremy Pino endured a mixed debut campaign at Selhurst Park last season.

There were flashes of the Spaniard’s immense technical ability with a wonderful strike in the 2-0 win over Wolves at Molineux and that incredibly unfortunate free-kick against Rayo Vallecano in Leipzig.

However, the Spain international himself admitted as recently as May that it was a “very difficult change” to swap Villarreal for Crystal Palace – one that he said is “still hard” even now.

Life should be easier for Pino now he has one full season of English football under his belt, and the Crystal Palace No.10 may soon feel more settled in SE25 as a familiar face in Oscar Mingueza prepares to arrive.

Yeremy Pino has previously played three games with Oscar Mingueza for Spain

Pino and Mingueza have spent time together on international duty for many years.

🚨 NEW SIGNING ALERT 🚨

What do Palace need to do next after landing a new defender in Mingueza? 🇪🇸

The pair first went away together in the summer of 2021 for the U21 UEFA European Championship, where they helped Spain reach the semi-final before a defeat to Portugal.

Pino and Mingueza – who is arriving to compete against Daniel Munoz – also helped Spain reach the final of the 2025 UEFA Nations League, although Portugal once again reigned supreme.

The Crystal Palace duo have been in the squad for 11 different Spain games, only managing to get out onto the pitch together three times.

Spain have, however, won two of those three matches, and Pino would have been able to get a decent understanding of how Mingueza operates while partaking in these games – and vice versa.

The pair have also faced off in La Liga over the years during clashes between Villarreal and Celta Vigo.

Off the pitch, it should simply help Pino to have another Spaniard at Copers Cope with him on a daily basis.

There are several Spanish speakers already at Crystal Palace – such as Munoz and Jefferson Lerma – but Pino was the only player born in Spain until Mingueza arrived.

Has Oliver Glasner ruined his Crystal Palace legacy by moving to Nottingham Forest? 🤔

Hopefully, that will help the 23-year-old feel a lot more settled in SE25 after admitting his debut campaign was a “very difficult” period.
