Oliver Glasner copies Nottingham Forest’s erasure of Crystal Palace in first interview

Can Nottingham Forest not even bring themselves to mention Crystal Palace nowadays?

Firstly – for those who missed it – Nottingham Forest declined to mention Crystal Palace at all when announcing the appointment of Oliver Glasner, mentioning only “England” and “English football” when describing his achievements at Selhurst Park.

Those at the City Ground even removed the blue ribbons from the FA Cup – keeping only the red ones – when adding a graphic of our three trophies alongside the Austrian in their announcement.

After the whole UEFA fiasco, it seems Nottingham Forest feel uncomfortable to even mention Crystal Palace – and the memo has seemingly been passed on to Glasner.

Has Oliver Glasner ruined his Crystal Palace legacy by moving to Nottingham Forest? 🤔

Oliver Glasner describes Crystal Palace as nothing more than “an away team”

In his first interview at the City Ground after replacing Vitor Pereira, the 51-year-old said: “It’s a great feeling, very exciting first days here at Nottingham. Of course, I know the City Ground as a manager of an away team – the atmosphere was always brilliant, and I’m really looking forward to managing Nottingham Forest.”

Why are Glasner and Nottingham Forest simply unable to pay any mention to Crystal Palace?

It is becoming a truly strange situation, especially considering the Reds had no issues mentioning VfL Wolfsburg and Eintracht Frankfurt in their official announcement.

Nevertheless, if Glasner – who will earn £13m annually at Nottingham Forest – wants to erase his time with Crystal Palace from his memory, then he can crack on.

Steve Parish has since made an exciting appointment in Pierre Sage – the reigning French Coach of the Year – while also making a superb signing in Oscar Mingueza on a free transfer.

There is UEFA Europa League football to come at Selhurst Park for the very first time next season too, and with four players into the semi-finals of the World Cup, this really is a special time to support Crystal Palace.

Glasner deserves our eternal gratitude and – as already opined – we feel fans should not boo the Austrian when he returns to Selhurst Park with Nottingham Forest on October 10th.

🚨 NEW SIGNING ALERT 🚨

What do Palace need to do next after landing a new defender in Mingueza? 🇪🇸

Having said that, the erasure of Crystal Palace on behalf of those at the City Ground is nothing short of weird.
