With Roy Hodgson’s contract set to expire at the end of the season, Crystal Palace may need to look at potential alternatives to the 76-year-old.
Many names have been touted around, including that of three-time Premier League winner Jose Mourinho.
However, one manager that we think Crystal Palace are unlikely to hire this summer is Ipswich Town’s Kieran McKenna.
The manager has done a superb job with the Tractor Boys, from winning promotion from League One last season to currently occupying an automatic promotion spot in the Championship 12 games into the campaign.

Why Crystal Palace are unlikely to appoint McKenna
Former Manchester United coach McKenna is under contract until the end of the 2024/25 season, with the 37-year-old having a £4 million compensation clause in his contract.
Chairman Steve Parish is known for his reluctance to spend big on players, let alone on a manager who has no previous Premier League experience.
Palace haven’t paid to get a manager out of their existing contract since the club hired Alan Pardew from Newcastle United back in 2015, paying the Magpies £3.5 million for the now 62-year-old.
Just because one manager succeeds at one club doesn’t automatically mean their tactics succeed, as demonstrated by Pardew after he was sacked just 13 months into his three-and-a-half-year contract at Selhurst Park.
A more experienced option would be preferred
With the Premier League becoming ever more competitive, it is crucial that the board get Hodgson’s replacement right.
An experienced boss would more likely be preferred to a young coach bursting through the EFL, purely down to the risk element of a possible relegation.
Graham Potter is a potential candidate for the role even though he managed rivals Brighton and Hove Albion.
The 48-year-old is currently without a club after being sacked by Chelsea, but Potter knows what it takes to be successful in England’s top flight as demonstrated during his time as boss at the Amex.
