On Tuesday during the day, Wharton’s move became almost a certainty with reports he was heading to London to complete a £22m move from Blackburn Rovers to Palace.
These were backed up with his agent posting a photo hint on X which suggested he was London-bound.
Signing a player like Wharton is massive for Palace and he instantly elevates the Palace midfield to its strongest point of the season.
With players like Will Hughes getting fewer minutes, his singing will be heralded by Selhurst Park supporters.
The profile of the player he is too is absolutely perfect for this Palace side and his qualities could be perfect to compliment Jefferson Lerma and Eberechi Eze in a three-man midfield.
