“Lost for words”: Crystal Palace fans shocked by what Guehi did in 1-0 defeat to Everton

Crystal Palace fell to yet another disappointing defeat, as they were eliminated from the FA Cup at the hands of Everton.

It was another uninspiring display from Roy Hodgson’s side, and the manager was booed for his tactical decisions on the day as Palace’s misery continues.

There has been little to cheer about at Selhurst Park this season, but one bright spot in the team has been Marc Guehi.

Yet again, the defender stood out as a shining light in an otherwise dismal evening at Goodison Park, and fans are now raving about one particularly good moment from him.

With Palace chasing the game after going 1-0 down, Guehi took it upon himself to get forward from centre-back to create chances, and produced a wonderful bit of skill as he drove down the left flank before putting a perfect cross in, which was headed wide.

Whilst fans were amazed by this run, it speaks volumes about the quality of this Crystal Palace side that Guehi is one of a few players who seems capable of creating anything.

“Marc Guehi is a better winger than Jeff Schlupp,” one fan pointed out.

“Guy is literally Englands best CB now, and he can act like a winger by beating his man and delivering an inch perfect ball into the box with his weaker foot??? He is World Class,” another highlighted.

“Better LB than Mitchell, better LW than Schlupp. Cool,” another claimed.

“I’m actually lost for words,” a fan stated of his skill.

Guehi has been linked with several top clubs including Chelsea and Manchester United, and with Palace continuing to underwhelm, a fan has even claimed that he should leave for his own sake.

“Leave the club and go achieve what you deserve. Yes his ceiling is higher than Olise Eze etc. Just because he isn’t an attacker he isn’t hyped like them. Leave the sinking ship while you can,” a fan begrudgingly claimed.

Guehi has been excellent for Palace, but with the club now out of both cup competitions at the earliest stage, and faltering in the league, it would take serious convincing to stop him leaving if a huge offer arrives this summer, with Palace failing to match his quality with ambition in this campaign.
