Predicted Crystal Palace line-up to face Brentford in Premier League opener

Add as preferred source on Google

Crystal Palace begin the 2024/25 season on Sunday afternoon against Brentford.

The game comes after a successful pre-season in which Crystal Palace have looked very impressive and good value to continue at the level we saw at the end of last season.

The expectations are therefore high regarding the 2024/25 season among Palace fans.

Although despite the optimism, various pundits are less confident with Paul Merson even warning of possible relegation danger.

So with that in mind, here is our predicted XI.

How Crystal Palace could line-up against Brentford

Oliver Glasner has already explained that he has an almost fully fit squad to pick from with Matheus Franca being the only absentee. So here is our predicted XI.

Dean Henderson

In goal, Glasner has already made his opinion clear that Dean Henderson is the number one and he will start against Brentford.

Chris Richards

The first of the back three we predict will be Chris Richards as he looks likely to be a mainstay this season.

Joachim Andersen

In the middle of the back three we predict it will be Joachim Andersen, with the Dane being the most consistent player in this position.

Marc Guehi

Marc Guehi looked on the verge of a move to Newcastle, but Glasner suggested he will be playing against Brentford so we have him predicted to start.

Daniel Munoz

At right wing-back it’ll be Daniel Munoz who is set for his first full year at Selhurst Park after joining last January.

Adam Wharton

In the central midfield position we think Adam Wharton will start, with the England international likely one of the first names on the teamsheet.

Jefferson Lerma

Continuing in midfield, Jefferson Lerma should start ahead of both Cheick Doucoure and Will Hughes. The Colombian was excellent last season under Glasner.

Tyrick Mitchell

On the left, Tyrick Mitchell remains the only option, despite rumours of a bid for Filip Kostic on Friday.

Ebere Eze

Moving into the attack, Ebere Eze will likely start after he made his return appearance last weekend against Nantes. Eze’s importance this season is profound and if he isn’t playing the Eagles could struggle.

Daichi Kamada

In behind the striker with Eze will be Daichi Kamada for his competitive debut at Palace after impressing during pre-season with a handful of goals already.

Odsonne Edouard

Up top, Odsonne Edouard is likely to start, considering Jean-Philippe Mateta has only just returned from his silver medal winning Olympics campaign.
