Predicted Crystal Palace line-up to face Nantes in pre-season finale

Crystal Palace conclude pre-season on Sunday against French side Nantes at Selhurst Park.

Oliver Glasner will be raring to get stuck into the 2024/25 season after a successful pre-season campaign which began almost a month ago.

However, before the Premier League can begin, there is one final preparation game against Ligue 1 side Nantes, and it will see Crystal Palace name – we assume a full-strength side.

One week before the season begins, it could be the first time we see several players in the new kit.

But most importantly Palace will be hoping the wrap pre-season up with a win and keep the momentum which was built with consecutive wins in the United States.

Here is our predicted XI for the game.

How Crystal Palace could line-up against Nantes

Through pre-season so far, the Eagles have beaten both Wolves and West Ham and will look to end it on a high against the French side at Selhurst Park.

But in terms of a line-up, we imagine Glasner will go strong. So here is our XI…

Dean Henderson

In goal, Dean Henderson seems to be clear as Glasner’s number one as he was straight back into the starting line-up following his return from Euro 2024. Sam Johnstone could be on his way out – which makes it even more likely that Henderson will be starting.

Chris Richards

Moving into the defence, Chris Richards seems fairly comfortable as the right-sided central defender. He impressed through pre-season and is set for a huge season following how good he was last year.

Joachim Andersen

In the middle, Joachim Andersen is likely to start with his importance to Palace never being more emphatic. He seems likely to don the captain’s armband this season too.

Chadi Riad

On the left of the three, we expect it to be Chadi Riad, despite Marc Guehi being available. With this being the final warm-up for the season we imagine Glasner will pick players who at the moment are likely to be at the club this season – which Guehi does not at the moment.

Daniel Munoz

One player set to return is Daniel Munoz as he has now been back in training all week following his prolonged holiday. Munoz was a revelation at right wing-back last season and we expect that to continue.

Daichi Kamada

In midfield, we expect Daichi Kamada will start – with his services further forward no longer needed due to returns and signings. This could also be his Selhurst Park debut.

Adam Wharton

Alongside Kamada, Adam Wharton is surely in line to return for his second campaign at Palace. We expect he will be even better than what we saw last season, with Palace fending off interest already.

Tyrick Mitchell

At left wing-back, Tyrick Mitchell is almost certain to start as the Eagles don’t have much depth in the position and he is among the key performers in Glasner’s side.

Ebere Eze

Moving into the first of the number 10 positions is Ebere Eze, back from England duty. Eze at the moment seems set to remain at Palace for this season – but we won’t feel safe until the transfer window closes.

Ismaila Sarr

Next up we think it will be the man making his Palace debut, Ismaila Sarr. He faces a steep challenge to replace Michael Olise – but it all starts here against Nantes.

Odsonne Edouard

Finally, upfront we have picked Odsonne Edouard once again after an impressive few games during pre-season. Edouard will likely be replaced by Jean-Philippe Mateta upon his return but for now, the Frenchman is showing himself perfectly capable of having a role in Glasner’s team.
