Three decisions Oliver Glasner got wrong for Crystal Palace vs Forest, one is crystal clear

Things went from bad to worse for Crystal Palace on Monday night at the City Ground.

Following a winless opening seven games of the league season, a victory over Nottingham Forest was not only desired but needed.

However, it was another disappointing result for Crystal Palace, losing narrowly 1-0 to Forest, although the performance did not deserve much else.

This loss leaves the Eagles 18th in the table, five points adrift of Everton in 16th – while also being one of four teams yet to win this season.

It makes grim reading for the Eagles as we are now almost a quarter of the way into the season and relegation looks like a real possibility.

Against Forest, Oliver Glasner made several poor decisions which contributed to the disappointing performance.

Sticking with the faltering system

Over the international break, it was reported that Glasner was working on formation changes for Crystal Palace.

However, despite now being on an eight-game Premier League unbeaten it seems the Austrian is unwilling to take the risk – sticking with a faltering system instead.

The formation clearly does not suit the players and they are really struggling – so if Glasner wants things to improve he may need to figure out a new system rather than chasing a repeat of last season.

So clearly this needs to change if the Eagles are to improve.

Not putting Asher Agbinone on earlier for Crystal Palace

In the 88th minute, Glasher unleashed exciting 19-year-old winger Asher Agbinone, with an impressive outing.

The Wilfried Zaha-like forward created as many chances as his senior teammates despite only getting a few minutes to make his mark.

Agbinone blew Eagles’ fans away in his limited game-time and showed that he deserves more minutes for Crystal Palace.

Leaving both Daichi Kamada and Eberechi Eze on while taking Eddie Nketiah off

The final mistake we feel Glasner made against Forest was deciding to take Nketiah off instead of the likes of Eberechi Eze or Daichi Kamada – who were both atrocious.

Despite not being perfect, Nketiah was the Eagles’ most creative player with four chances coming via the £25m striker.

Nketiah was a constant threat despite not finishing chances or his creativity leading to goals.
