There were multiple Crystal Palace players in action on Friday for their nations, here’s how they got on in their respective games.
Several Crystal Palace players have been and will be in action for their nations during this final international break of the season.
This will have handed Oliver Glasner the chance to see his players in action once more which could help with a few massive decisions to make over his squad to face Nottingham Forest a week today.
So let’s take a look at how the Eagles’ players have fared while away from Selhurst Park…
Daniel Munoz and Jefferson Lerma vs Spain
As Colombia and Spain faced off in the London Stadium on Friday night, it was the two Palace players that shone brightly.
Jefferson Lerma bossed the midfield, winning seven duels and boasting an 89 per cent pass completion rate. However, it was Munoz who stole the show, scoring the game’s only goal during the 1-0 Colombia win and it was a great one too.
The fact the pair put in this performance in London, we imagine Oliver Glasner won’t have been blind to it and will be keen on seeing these two continue their excellent form upon club football resuming.
Jordan Ayew vs Nigeria
It was a loss for £3m man Jordan Ayew, who took on Nigeria while playing up front for Ghana.
Despite the Palace star actually getting on the scoresheet in the 95th minute from the spot, it wasn’t enough as the Black Stars lost 2-1.
Although the defeat won’t have been how he wanted to start the break, it’s a second Palace player to get onto the scoresheet, which is always encouraging to see.
Adam Wharton vs Poland U20
Adam Wharton played the entire 90 minutes as England U20s thrashed Poland 5-1 on Friday evening.
The youngster was brilliant in central midfield and will have been delighted with his contribution to the win.
He won the game while playing alongside a handful of players linked with making a Palace move—namely Ronnie Edwards and Lewis Hall.
Tayo Adaramola, Sean Grehan and Killian Phillips vs San Marino U21s
As Ireland U21s walked to a dominant 7-0 win over San Marino on Friday, Tayo Adaramola started the game at left-back and looked the part in a truly dominant result.
He played the entire game and was joined by two fellow Palace players from the bench in Sean Grehan in the 66th minute and then Killian Phillips in the 75th minute.
Such a thrashing win will have impressed Glasner and caught his eye to see what role his youngsters played in the result.
