Ronnie Edwards could now stay at Peterborough this month despite several bids from Crystal Palace.

Crystal Palace may not sign Ronnie Edwards in January
Well, sources told We Are Palace last week that Dougie Freedman is leading the race to sign the England U20 international – with those at Selhurst Park confident of striking a deal.
Now, however – according to Crook – the “vibe” coming from Peterborough is that Edwards will stay at the Weston Homes Stadium.
The journalist told Give Me Sport: “Ronnie Edwards, they (Crystal Palace) have had – I think – up to three offers over the course of the summer window, and going into this one, rejected. They’re definitely the keenest on him, but I think there are half a dozen Premier League clubs sniffing around at the moment. The vibe is that he’s more likely to stay this window than go.”
Crooks added that Peterborough have been demanding £10m for the central defender throughout this month, a sum Crystal Palace are clearly yet to meet despite a number of bids.
Edwards has made 30 appearances in all competitions for Peterborough so far this season, scoring two goals.
Crystal Palace can afford to wait
By the looks of it, Crystal Palace are only keen to sign Edwards in preparation for one of Marc Guehi or Joachim Andersen to depart in the summer, so there is no immediate need for the 20-year-old.
The Denmark international has been linked with Newcastle – while the England international is said to be a target for Arsenal.
Therefore, Crystal Palace can afford to wait until the summer until bringing Edwards to Selhurst Park – if he were to arrive now, it feels highly unlikely that Roy Hodgson would give him much game time ahead of Andersen and Guehi.
