Christantus Uche is now back in Spain with Getafe after struggling on loan at Crystal Palace last season.
The Nigeria international was not given a single start in the Premier League by Oliver Glasner – while the Austrian also left the former Ceuta star out of the UEFA Conference League squad for the knockout phase despite his two goals in four league phase matches.
Footy-Africa have now provided an update on Uche, and the Nigerian remains in a spot of bother despite escaping from his nightmarish spell at Selhurst Park.
Has Oliver Glasner ruined his Crystal Palace legacy by moving to Nottingham Forest? 🤔
Getafe now looking to sell Christantus Uche despite wish to stay
The African news outlet believe the 23-year-old is prioritising stability after a rough time in south London, and is eager to stay in Spain with Getafe.
However, the Spanish side need to make sales to ease financial problems, and have put the attacking midfielder up for sale for a sum of €15m (£13m).
A source close to Uche – who recently seemed to aim a dig at Glasner – said: “Uche wants stability and would like to stay at Getafe and rebuild after what happened at Crystal Palace, but the issue is that Getafe need to raise funds and are exploring every opportunity to generate income while remaining financially stable.
“It has not been an easy period for him, but he is fully focused on playing football again. His first choice is to stay in Spain because he enjoyed his time there and misses playing in La Liga. We all know Getafe are open to selling him, but only for a fee they believe reflects his value.”

In our view, a sum of just £13m represents decent value for a player who clearly has talent, but was simply not given enough of a chance under Glasner to show his ability more regularly.
So, we would like to think someone will take the gamble and give Uche – who made no secret of his sadness in SE25 – the chance to continue playing in Spain, where Real Betis and Real Sociedad are interested in his services.
Would you have Uche back now Glasner is gone? 🤔
He wasn't worth triggering the £17m option to buy, but there's definitely a player in there… 👀
Hopefully, the man born in Owerri can resurrect his career after a difficult time under Glasner.
