Crystal Palace have been busy when it comes to loaning out young talents so far this summer.
A deal for David Ozoh to join Derby on loan has already been finalised, while Tayo Adaramola has also been sent to Stockport – where the Crystal Palace No.45 has sadly suffered a serious injury early on.
Now, Crystal Palace are close to finding a loan move for Jesurun Rak-Sakyi as well, with an interesting detail set to be included in his contract…
Crystal Palace make Jesurun Rak-Sakyi decision as Sheffield United strike loan agreement
After an ongoing saga involving bids from Southampton, it is Sheffield United who have now beaten QPR, Leeds and Hull in the race to sign Rak-Sakyi on loan.
While that update is nothing new, Dom Smith of the Evening Standard has provided an interesting detail.
It is said that Crystal Palace will insert a recall clause into Rak-Sakyi’s contract with Sheffield United, which gives the Eagles an option to bring the England U20 international back to Selhurst Park from January 2025 onwards.
That option could be triggered if Oliver Glasner suffers an injury crisis in the attacking department, or if Crystal Palace feel the 21-year-old is not benefitting from his time at Bramall Lane.

Rak-Sakyi was spotted in the opening training session at Selhurst Park on Thursday afternoon, meaning a deal is yet to reach the medical stage, although a move to Sheffield United is certainly on after the Blades agreed to pay a £1m loan fee and also cover 100% of the winger’s wages.
Chris Wilder could enhance the 21-year-old’s game
This will undoubtedly be an interesting loan move for Rak-Sakyi, as Chris Wilder does not use traditional wingers at Bramall Lane.
Sheffield United typically line up using a 3-5-2 formation with wing-backs providing the width, and two central strikers occupying the middle.
Therefore, we could see Rak-Sakyi be coached into a central forward, a position he has only played in three times during his senior career, which came while on loan at Charlton in the 2022/23 season.

Wilder may also opt to use the Crystal Palace wonderkid as a wing-back at times, which should improve his defensive awareness.
Hopefully, Sheffield United can take Rak-Sakyi’s game to another level, and provide Glasner with a Premier League ready player next summer.
