Crystal Palace are in a difficult situation, amidst uncertainty over manager Roy Hodgson’s future following a poor run of form.
Palace have won just one of their last eight games, and were booed off following their 2-0 defeat to Bournemouth last night.
The football on display in recent weeks has been turgid, and despite possessing a fair few young talents in the squad, Hodgson has persisted with some underperforming players, and is under increasing pressure.

A report from The Telegraph has revealed that the negative mood around the club, the perceived lack of ambition and the side’s poor form have meant that Palace are now worried that their star players could end up leaving.
“There are also said to be fears that Palace will find it hard to hold on to their talented clutch of players, such as England defender Marc Guehi, Eberechi Eze and Michael Olise, should the season continue on its current trajectory,” the report stated.
Eze and Olise both signed new deals this season, with the club also keen to tie Guehi down, but this may prove difficult.
Crystal Palace need to show more ambition
Whilst Crystal Palace do have top talents in Eze, Olise and Guehi, they will need to match their ambitions to keep them at the club.
Roy Hodgson has spoken about how fans should be grateful to merely exist in the Premier League, but all three players will likely have far greater ambitions, and they are unlikely to stick around in the long-term if Palace continue to fade into mediocrity.
If Palace can eventually hire a manager who is willing to play more attacking football, and give more chances to exciting young talent, they will have better luck in keeping their best players.
If they continue to underperform and play a dull, defensive style, then it seems unlikely that the top stars will want to watch their careers stagnate in a poor side.
