Crystal Palace player now left out of 2024/25 squad photo after falling out with Oliver Glasner

Crystal Palace have now uploaded an official squad photo for the 2024/25 campaign – but someone is missing.

Oliver Glasner arranged for every single first-team player associated with Crystal Palace, male or female, to be involved in the picture as a show of togetherness.

However, there was one notable absence…

Rob Holding left out of Crystal Palace squad photo

It was Rob Holding who the 50-year-old left out of our 2024/25 squad photo.

As you may have heard, Glasner revealed after the 1-1 draw against Chelsea that Holding has been made to train alone, saying: “Rob is training individually at the moment. We will talk together. He knows the reason, but it is something that stays between Rob and me. Nothing public.”

Very cryptic.

No official reason has been provided yet, although a story from The Athletic claimed that Holding had been banished after complaining about a running session following the 2-0 defeat against West Ham at Selhurst Park earlier this season.

Furthermore, Holding also deleted all mention of Crystal Palace from his social media accounts, suggesting a bridge has been well and truly burned.

Mofe Jemide can replace the Crystal Palace No.4

Holding – who cost £4m in a move from Arsenal back in September 2023 – has only made one appearance for Crystal Palace in over a year, so he is hardly of much importance.

In our view, his role as a fringe player in Glasner’s squad can, and should, be taken by Mofe Jemide.

The 17-year-old was involved with the senior players throughout pre-season, and looks to be a precocious talent.

In fact, Jemide even outdid Holding statistically in a recent EFL Trophy win over Gillingham, having started alongside the experienced Englishman in the 3-1 victory.

As things stand, it would be a major surprise if the Crystal Palace No.4 remains at Selhurst Park beyond the January transfer window, after his fallout with Glasner.
