Daichi Kamada has arrived at Crystal Palace this summer and he’s already fitting in like a glove and he’s not sent a message to fans.

Of the two signings already official at Crystal Palace this summer, Daichi Kamada is the one fans will be most excited about seeing in action.

The Japanese international is a real talent and a player who Oliver Glasner knows very well from their time together at Frankfurt.

After completing his move to Selhurst Park, Kamada has been in training, having dinner with Jean-Philippe Mateta and undergoing his media commitments. Now, he’s answered the fan’s questions.

These ranged through various topics but resulted in him sending a message to the fans and also making a bold 2024/25 prediction.

Daichi Kamada now sets ambitious first-season target at Selhurst Park

Speaking with club media, Kamada was asked a range of different questions. One of which was what he’d like to say to Palace fans, to which he answered the following.

“I understand that I joined the club with high expectations, so I hope I can meet those expectations. And I’ll do whatever it takes to show my best and help the team. So I’ll appreciate your support.”

Another of the questions he faced was about the targets he has for the coming campaign, something he agrees with Joachim Andersen over.

“I think our main goal as a team is to fight to qualify for the next season’s European Cup competition, so I want to contribute to that as much as I can.

“I think the most important thing as a player is game time, and it is normal for a great team like Crystal Palace to have strong competition for places. So, I’m determined to win my position in the squad and help the team.”

Daichi Kamada also gives an immediate impression of Selhurst Park

Despite not yet playing in Selhurst Park, Kamada already knows what to expect as he revealed in the interview.

“While I think it is not an extremely large stadium in size, the stadium is always full of supporters and I’m glad I will be able to play in that great atmosphere. Besides, the seats are very close to the pitch, so I have the impression that this is a real Premier League stadium.”

Continuing to discuss the Premier League, Kamada shared the four teams from England’s premier division that he’s excited to face.

“Well, in the so-called four major football leagues in Europe, the only big clubs that I have not played against yet are Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool. I am really looking forward to facing these big clubs in the Premier League.”

Kamada is very impressive and wherever Glasner decides to utilise him, we can’t see how he’d be anything other than a success.

Kamada could make his first appearance for the Eagles this Friday against Charlton, while a first competitive game at Selhurst Park isn’t until August 24th against West Ham.
