Darren Ambrose has now shared his thoughts on how Crystal Palace No.6 Marc Guehi performed for England against the Netherlands.
The £18m Crystal Palace defender was brought straight back into the starting XI by Gareth Southgate after missing the quarter-final win over Switzerland through suspension, and hardly put a foot wrong as England remarkably reached the final thanks to a 90th minute winner from Ollie Watkins.

The man who made 124 appearances for Crystal Palace has now heaped praise on the 23-year-old for his display against the Netherlands.
Writing on X (previously known as Twitter) after Guehi largely kept Ronald Koeman’s side quiet for 90 minutes, Ambrose claimed: “Marc Guehi excellent once again, has he been England’s best player this tournament???”
The man from Abidjan certainly has a case for being England’s Player of the Tournament.
Guehi has hardly put a foot wrong in Germany so far this summer, providing the crucial assist for Jude Bellingham to keep England in the competition with that special overhead kick against Slovakia, while also limiting opponents to just three goals in his five appearances at Euro 2024.
How Crystal Palace No.6 performed against the Netherlands
Guehi did himself and Crystal Palace proud against the Dutch.
As SofaScore shows, the England international was almost pristine in possession of the ball, completing 85 of his attempted 87 passes with a success rate of 98% – while also taking 92 touches.
Furthermore, Guehi made two blocks and one clearance, including one crucial intervention inside the box, where he somehow managed to chest the ball back to Jordan Pickford while falling over.
There may be doubts over whether the Chelsea academy graduate will sign a new contract at Selhurst Park – Arsenal are believed to be on red alert as Guehi ponders his future at Crystal Palace.
Barcelona and Real Madrid are even said to be looking at Guehi as well.

Nevertheless, if he delivers another performance like this against Spain on Sunday, Steve Parish would be well within his rights to demand up to £80m for the Euro 2024 star.
