Crystal Palace need midfield reinforcements this summer.
Joao Gomes is being targeted as Daichi Kamada and Jefferson Lerma could both leave – the pair see their contracts expire at the end of the season.
However, the Eagles already have a midfielder coming back to Selhurst Park in David Ozoh – who has spent the last two campaigns out on loan at Derby.
The 20-year-old has become a real fan favourite at Pride Park, and has now seemingly offered a hint about his own future plans on X (previously known as Twitter).
David Ozoh appears to close the curtain on his time at Derby
The way Ozoh has worded his farewell message to Derby fans very much makes it feel like he is firmly focused on making a name for himself at Crystal Palace.
The Valencia-born midfielder wrote: “Two unforgettable years as a Ram. I’ve loved every single moment of it. I’m truly grateful for all the support and memories. This club will always hold a special place in my heart.”
In our view, that doesn’t particularly sound like he plans to write another chapter with Derby, not anytime soon at least.
If our assessment is correct, Crystal Palace fans should be delighted to have Ozoh back in SE25 next season.
Even back in December 2023, the Crystal Palace academy graduate proved himself capable of playing in the Premier League.

Ozoh shone in a 2-2 draw at Manchester City, helping the Eagles fight back from 2-0 down to snatch a point up against the champions, fresh from winning the treble and managed by Pep Guardiola of all coaches.
It was a statement performance, and having since made 47 appearances for Derby, we can only assume Crystal Palace are getting a much better player back compared to the one they sent to Pride Park.
Hopefully, whoever replaces Oliver Glasner – Kieran McKenna is an option – gives Ozoh a proper chance to establish himself at Selhurst Park next season.
