Renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on when Crystal Palace fans can expect to see Oliver Glasner take charge at Selhurst Park.

Crystal Palace are set for an important week as Oliver Glasner looks set to take charge from Roy Hodgson as manager at Selhurst Park

Prior to the expected change in personnel, the Eagles face a trip to Merseyside to battle Everton in the Premier League on Monday night in what could be the final game before the Glasner era officially begins.

The primary concern surrounding Palace at present is the health of Hodgson, who was taken ill during a training session on Thursday.

Speaking ahead of the fixture with Everton, Blues boss Sean Dyche showed his support for the Palace manager, seeing the football take the back seat.

“It’s an important game and the points are important to us but bigger than the game is certainly his [Hodgson’s] health and I hope he is well and he comes through it with no problems.”

When Oliver Glasner could take charge at Crystal Palace

It is expected that Hodgson’s tenure as Palace coach will officially come to an end next week, with journalist Fabrizio Romano providing an update on when Glasner will take the reins from the 76-year-old.

The journalist echoed the support for the current manager when revealing when the new boss will take charge.

“Oliver Glasner, set for his first training session as Crystal Palace new head coach on Tuesday — after fair goodbye to Roy Hodgson.”

The situation of who will take charge of the squad was at one point suspected to be a narrative addressed at the end of the season, which has since changed, particularly as the Englishman focuses on getting well.

What Oliver Glasner’s first challenges could be at Crystal Palace

The former Eintracht Frankfurt boss is in good stead to be in charge of the Eagles for the upcoming fixtures with Burnley and Spurs.

Romano added that the Austrian is expected to be in attendance at Goodison Park alongside Steve Parish

“Glasner also expected to watch game vs Everton with Steve Parish, after he was following Spurs today preparing for the game in 2 weeks.”

As reported yesterday, Glasner was at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to watch Ange Postecoglou’s side fall short to Wolves in preparation for Palace’s clash with their London rivals on 2nd March.

The health of Hodgson and the battle with the Toffees come before any expected announcements at Palace, in what is set to be an interesting week at Selhurst.
